Shortly before noon, New Lenox police informed Providence Catholic school leadership about a social media post by a student that posed a potential safety threat. Police officers arrived on campus and requested the administration to locate the student. Searches of the student, their locker, and vehicle were conducted, but nothing was found. The student's parent was contacted, and the student left with police officers. Authorities assured that they would maintain a presence on campus for the remainder of the day.
