Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2025 at Joliet West are scheduled for May 24, 2025, taking place at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm in the Joliet West Field House. Each graduate has been allocated five tickets for family and guests, necessary for entry regardless of age. The distribution of tickets will occur during the Class of 2025 Check-Out on May 23.
"The graduation ceremony is a formal event and students are encouraged to dress in a way that appropriately reflects the occasion," emphasized the organizing committee. The ceremony lineup requires graduates to arrive one hour prior and guests no more than 45 minutes before the start. All attendees must be ready by 15 minutes before commencement, with no entry permitted during the Line of March.
Only students meeting all graduation requirements will officially receive their diplomas post-June 9, 2025. "Please contact your student’s school counselor if you have questions about their graduation status," the administration advised.
The ceremonies include a formal procession, name reading, and diploma cover distribution, alongside professional photo opportunities. Tassels begin on the right side of the mortarboard and are moved to the left as per administrative instruction. Only officially issued cords are to be worn.
Those unable to attend in person may view the graduation via a live stream on YouTube. The name "May 24, 2025," will be etched on diplomas and transcripts as the official graduation date.
Graduates and families should note that the senior check-out on May 23 requires attendance based on last name. During this process, students must return textbooks, secure cap and gowns, and collect graduation tickets. All items related to the ceremony must be pre-ordered and paid for through Jostens, as the school is unable to manage finances on the day of the event.
"Pay all outstanding before Friday, May 16. If you need assistance, please contact Shawanda Tillman 815-727-6873," added the schools' announcements.
The administrative team consisting of Mrs. Tecara Parker, Dr. Brett Marcum, Dr. Sean Hackney, and Mr. Matt Narducci extend their anticipation in celebrating these academic achievements alongside the graduating class.
Joliet West High School looks forward to these milestone events, marking a significant step in the lives of its students.
