As the school year draws to a close, students and families are being reminded about the potential dangers of engaging in senior pranks. A game known as "Senior Assassin," which involves players using squirt guns, has been identified as a violation of school rules.
It is important to note that certain items are prohibited on school grounds as they are considered weapons. Students in possession of these items, even if there is no intention to use them, may face an expulsion recommendation and the involvement of the Joliet Police Department. Such items include, but are not limited to, airsoft or pellet guns, gel or water guns, BB guns, tasers, and other weapons.
Additionally, bringing items that resemble weapons to school can lead to similar consequences. Realistic-looking replica weapons have the potential to cause panic and disruption and may be used in intimidation, despite not being genuine.
Families are urged to discuss with their children the risks associated with pranks that violate school regulations. The primary concern remains the safety of students and staff.
