Shorewood warns of incorrect police non-emergency number on Google

This morning, the Village of Shorewood Police Department received a report about an issue with its non-emergency phone number. According to Village Administrator Aaron G. Klima, people searching for the department's non-emergency contact through Google A.I. are being directed to incorrect phone numbers.

Klima stated, "While A.I. is a wonderful tool, it is not perfect and, in this case, people are being directed to incorrect phone numbers." He described the matter as a public safety concern and said that the Village is working with Google to address the problem.

The public is advised to be cautious when searching online for police contact information until the issue is resolved.
