Families and students can now view the school calendar for the upcoming academic year. The calendar includes key dates such as the first day of school, holidays, and School Improvement (SIP) Days.
An Athletic Boosters meeting is scheduled for April 9 at 6 p.m. in support of school athletic programs. "The Boosters raise funds to supplement the athletic budgets, provide scholarships, and promote Steelmen and Tiger Pride."
Joliet Central High School will present its spring musical, "Six: The Musical – Teen Edition," from April 10 to April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Joliet Central Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door for $10. The musical offers a modern pop concert experience revolving around the lives of the six wives of King Henry VIII, promoting "21st-century girl power by reclaiming the wives' identities."
The YMCA is organizing a Teen Achievers Workshop titled "Finding Free Money for College" on April 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. The workshop is free and requires prior registration.
The next JTHS Board of Education meeting will take place on April 15 at 7 p.m. Community members wishing to comment should sign up before 6:50 p.m.
JTHS students can attend the JJC Pathways to Success event on April 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Joliet Central Cafeteria. The event will address various topics, including admissions, dual credit, scholarships, and financial aid.
Mandatory state testing occurs on April 16 and 17. Schedule details vary by grade level.
The JT Boosters will host the 19th Annual Night of Champions on April 17 at IBEW 176 Hall in Joliet, beginning at 5 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner and awards.
Classes will not be held on April 18 due to a Spring Holiday.
A Hands of Hope free food giveaway is set for April 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 511 Oakleaf Court in Joliet.
School Improvement Day with early release is scheduled for April 24. Students follow the "B" Schedule, with dismissal times varying by school branch.
Special Games celebrating Special Olympic athletes will occur on April 25 at Joliet Central's football field from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Finally, the Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) Meeting will be held on April 25. The meeting will feature presentations on nutritional education and student discipline procedures.
