Families and students of Joliet West High School are reminded that September 25, 2025, will be a School Improvement Day with early release for students. According to the school announcement, “Tomorrow, September 25, 2025, is a School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the ‘B’ Schedule. Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Click on the links below to view the attendance calendar.”
Joliet West High School serves grades 9 through 12 in Joliet and Will County and had an enrollment of 3,310 during the 2019-2020 school year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Data from the same period shows that grade 9 made up the largest group of students at the school with 27.3 percent of total enrollment (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Grade levels were distributed as follows: grade 10 comprised 24.7 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), grade 11 made up 25.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), and grade 12 accounted for 26.1 percent of all students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
The student body during this time was composed of approximately 34.9 percent white students, 21.2 percent black students, and about 39 percent Hispanic students; Asian students represented about 1.7 percent of enrollment according to state data (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
