Joliet Junior College hosts dual credit night for high school families

Joliet Junior College will hold a Dual Credit Information Night on October 22, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event is set to take place at the Main Campus, U-Auditorium. High school students and their parents or supporters are invited to attend and learn about earning college credit while still in high school.

The information session will explain how dual credit programs can help students save money, prepare for college-level coursework, and support future academic plans. Organizers state that the event is intended for both those planning to attend college and those who are still considering their options.

“High school students and their parents or supporters are invited to learn how to earn college credit while still in high school. The event will cover how dual credit can save money, prepare students for college-level work, and support future academic plans. It’s a valuable opportunity for both college-bound students and those still exploring their options,” according to the event announcement.

Joliet West High School serves grades 9 through 12 in Joliet and Will County with an enrollment of 3,310 students during the 2019-2020 school year, as reported by the Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Of these students, grade 9 had the highest proportion at 27.3 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), followed by grade 12 at 26.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), grade 11 at 25.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), and grade 10 at 24.7 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Demographically, Joliet West High School's student body was composed of approximately 34.9 percent white students, 21.2 percent black students, 39 percent Hispanic students, and 1.7 percent Asian students during the same period (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
