Joliet West High School introduces SchooLinks platform for college and career readiness
Matthew Narducci Assistant Principal | Joliet West High School

Joliet Township High School (JTHS) is introducing students and families to SchooLinks, a college and career planning platform designed to help students prepare for life after graduation. The platform provides resources for exploring careers, comparing colleges, tracking applications, and other postsecondary planning tools.

This week, students will access SchooLinks during the school day to become familiar with its features. Families are encouraged to log in as well, so they can stay involved in supporting their child’s goals after high school. No claim code is required for guardian accounts, and support is available if needed.

According to JTHS, “JTHS uses SchooLinks, a college and career planning platform, to help students prepare for life after graduation, which includes college, a career, the military, or technical training.”

The school serves grades 9 through 12 with an enrollment of 3,310 students during the 2019-2020 academic year. Joliet West High School is located in Joliet within Will County. Demographic data from the Illinois Report Card shows that 34.9 percent of students were white, 21.2 percent black, 39 percent Hispanic, and 1.7 percent Asian in that same year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Enrollment by grade level included approximately 27.3 percent freshmen (grade 9), which was the largest group among all grades (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Grade 10 accounted for about 24.7 percent of students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), grade 11 had roughly 25.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), while seniors made up about 26.1 percent of the student body (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
