Joliet Township High School (JTHS) is inviting families to attend its Open House on Wednesday, August 27, at 6 p.m. The event aims to give students and their families a chance to meet teachers and staff, as well as learn about the programs and opportunities available at the school.
"This is an opportunity for students and families to meet our teachers and staff and learn about the programs and opportunities we offer," JTHS stated in its announcement.
The school also reminded students that tomorrow will be an early release day. Arrival instructions were provided for both campuses: Central Campus attendees should enter through “J” Door off Eastern Avenue, while West Campus visitors are asked to use Door 5 (Cafeteria) off Glenwood Avenue.
"We look forward to seeing you at this family-friendly event!" JTHS added.
Joliet West High School serves grades 9 through 12 with an enrollment of 3,310 students during the 2019-2020 academic year. The student body is diverse, comprising approximately 34.9 percent white students, 21.2 percent black students, 39 percent Hispanic students, and 1.7 percent Asian students according to the Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Of those enrolled that year, grade 9 had the highest concentration of students at 27.3 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), followed by grade 12 at 26.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), grade 11 at 25.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), and grade 10 at 24.7 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
