Families and students of Joliet West High School are reminded that there will be no school from November 27 to 29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1. The district expressed appreciation for students, staff, families, and the broader school community as the break approaches.
Breakfast is available daily at each campus, with options that meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines. Students can purchase a complete breakfast including an entrée, fruit, and milk for $2 using their account; cash is not accepted in the cafeteria.

December 4 has been designated as a School Improvement Day with early release for students. Central, West, and Pathway students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m., AVAC students at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students at 10:45 a.m.
The Joliet West Choirs will host “Songs of the Season” on December 4 at the Jacob Henry Mansion Ballroom. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and features performances by choir students. Tickets cost $45 per person and include dinner; reservations are required.
On December 10, JTHS Special Services will hold its Pack the House event starting at 5 p.m. in the Joliet Central High School gymnasium. This district-wide gathering supports Special Olympics through a basketball game featuring raffles, musical entertainment, an appearance by the Steelmen mascot, and more. Admission is free but donations benefiting Special Olympics are accepted.
A Voter Registration Drive for Joliet West students will take place on December 10 during all lunch periods in the cafeteria foyer. Hosted by the Will County Clerk’s Office and Joliet West Student Ambassadors, eligible students can register to vote if they are U.S. citizens who will be at least 18 years old by November 3, 2026—the next General or Consolidated Election—and have lived in their precinct for at least thirty days prior to Election Day. Two forms of identification are required for registration; one must show current address.
Community members and faith-based organizations are invited to attend the next Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) meeting on December 12. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m., with presentations from both Will County Children’s Advocacy Center and Student Services Department about homelessness and related legislation.
The JTHS Board of Education’s next regular meeting is scheduled for December 16 at the Administrative Center beginning at 7 p.m. Meeting agendas are posted online ahead of time; those unable to attend may access meetings virtually.
