Providence Catholic High School has announced that four of its student-athletes will advance to collegiate athletics. The school expressed pride in their achievements, highlighting both academic and athletic excellence.
Doug Ternik, the Athletic Director at Providence Catholic, stated, “We couldn’t be prouder of these outstanding young athletes, who have excelled both in the classroom and as leaders in their sports. As they take this exciting next step, we extend our best wishes for their future and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish, both on the field and beyond.”
Luke Leverett from Frankfort is set to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale for football and track. He is recognized for his performance in track events like the 60m dash where he ranks #20 nationally. Leverett said, “I would like to thank my parents, my family, my friends, and God for blessing me with this wonderful opportunity.”
Zoey Xydakis of Joliet plans to continue cheerleading at Illinois State University while majoring in Interior Design. She acknowledged her coaches and family: “I would like to thank my cheer coaches Bridget, Mike, and Summer, as well as my family for always being there for me.”
Jaxson Foster from Joliet will pursue track and field at Saint Louis University with a focus on Computer Science. He credited his mentors by saying, “I’d like to thank Coach Coglianese, Coach Ray, Coach Smith, and my mom for everything they’ve done for me—through both baseball and track.”
Mia Piano from Minooka will join Illinois State University’s cheerleading team on an academic scholarship while studying Nursing. She expressed gratitude towards her support system: “I would like to especially thank my mom and dad, my family and friends, and my coaches Bridget, Mike, and Summer for their support.”
The school extends congratulations to these students as they embark on their new journeys.
