As the academic year draws to a close, students and families are reminded of several important events and services. Free online tutoring is available as final exams approach, with appointments accessible through a provided link.

The Will County Health Department is offering back-to-school vaccines for students entering 12th grade in the 2025-2026 school year. These students must provide proof of receiving two doses of the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4). Appointments can be made by calling 815-740-8143.

Joliet Central AVID students will host a Community Thrift Store on May 16 and 17. Items will be sold for $1, with proceeds benefiting Pawsitive Impact Pet Rescue and CASA of River Valley. The event will take place in the Joliet Central Multipurpose room and Student Galleria.

The JTHS Board of Education meeting is scheduled for May 20 at 7 p.m., inviting families and community members to attend. Public comments require sign-up before 6:50 p.m.

AVAC Graduation will occur on May 23 at 10 a.m. in the Central Auditorium, with a livestream link available.

Graduation ceremonies for Joliet Central and West's Class of 2025 are set for May 24 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.

There will be no classes on Memorial Day, May 26, as it is observed to honor those who lost their lives defending their country.

Final exams for Semester 2 are scheduled from May 28 to May 30, with specific bus pick-up schedules provided for exam days.

The last day of school for the current academic year is Friday, May 30.

On June 5, the JTHS Foundation will hold its annual Brent Wadsworth Alumni Golf Outing open to alumni, staff, business partners, and community members.

Looking ahead to July, the Will County Community Health Center’s Back-to-School Health Fair is planned for July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event offers games, giveaways, sports physicals, dental check-ups, school physicals, and vaccines by appointment due to high demand.
