Joliet Catholic Academy has appointed Matt Adler, an alumnus from the class of 2008, as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach. The school made the announcement on May 12, 2025.
Jim O’Brien, Joliet Catholic Academy’s Athletic Director, expressed confidence in Adler's capabilities: “Matt has been coaching in the girls’ basketball program for several years and is ready to take over and lead our Angels. Matt is an alum (’08) and was my right-hand man while I was Head Coach (2018-21) and (24-25). His passion for the game, dedication to player development, and genuine care for his players make him the perfect fit.”
Adler participated in both golf and basketball during his time at JCA. After graduating in 2008, he played golf at Holy Cross College. He later started a career at J.L. Adler Roofing while also coaching at St. Mary Immaculate and St. Paul’s before returning to coach at Joliet Catholic Academy.
In response to his appointment, Adler stated: “I am extremely honored for the opportunity to be the next Joliet Catholic Academy Head Girls Basketball Coach. I have been a part of the JCA program for the last 9 years, working on all three levels in the program. Our previous Head Coach, Jim O’Brien, has left us with great momentum, and I am excited to get this next season underway. It has been a privilege to be a part of the JCA community. Thank you to the athletic department and school for allowing me to pursue my love of coaching as a part of the JCA family.”
