Families and students are reminded of several upcoming events and initiatives within the Joliet Township High School District.

As Mother's Day approaches, a message from the Superintendent acknowledges "the strength, love, and devotion of all mothers and caregivers," wishing them a joyful day filled with cherished moments.

The Illinois State Board of Education continues to offer free summer meals for children aged 18 and under in the Joliet area, regardless of income level. This program aims to ensure that all children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months. For more details, individuals can call (800) 359-2163 or visit www.SummerMealsIllinois.org.

The Joliet West Band will hold its Spring Band Concert on May 13 at 7 p.m. in the West Auditorium. The event is open to the public and features performances by various bands including the Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensembles.

On May 15, the Volley4Vets Showdown will take place at Joliet Central Main Gym featuring boys’ volleyball teams from Joliet Central Steelmen and Joliet West Tigers. This event not only highlights sportsmanship but also honors Will County veterans while raising funds for the Disabled Patriot Fund.

TRIO Night at the Apollo Celebration is scheduled for May 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Joliet Central Cafeteria. Attendees can enjoy performances, food, raffles, and music.

Washington Jr. High School seeks student volunteers for its College/Career Night on May 15 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., offering an opportunity to earn community service hours.

The Joliet Central Spring Band Concert will be held on May 15 at 7 p.m. in the Central Auditorium featuring symphonic band selections along with a special acknowledgment for the band class of 2025.

Those interested in JTHS history are invited to attend a meeting of the Central Archives Committee on May 15 at Central’s third-floor archives area.

The JTHS Board of Education meeting is set for May 20 at their usual venue; community members are welcome to attend and make public comments by signing up before 6:50 p.m.

A free Youth Dance Workshop is available for ages 11-16 from June 2 to June 6 at NHBW Headquarters. Participants will explore dance history and compositions among other activities.

Graduation ceremonies for Joliet Central and West's Class of 2025 are scheduled for May 24 at different times during the day.

Volunteers are encouraged to participate in ShareFest & Will County Free Food Giveaway on May 24 from 8 a.m. to noon hosted by Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant alongside ShareFest partners.

There will be no classes on Memorial Day, May 26, as it serves as a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives serving their country.

Final exams for Semester Two will occur between May 28-30 across both Joliet Central and West campuses.

The school year concludes on May 30 with an emphasis on finishing strong as students prepare for summer break.

Lastly, the JTHS Foundation Golf Outing takes place on June 5 at Inwood Golf Club aiming to raise funds supporting various educational programs within District 204.
