The deadline for applications to the Will County CED Summer Internship Program is approaching, with only 11 days remaining. A total of 147 paid summer internship positions are available across select Will County School Districts, including JTHS. This initiative results from a collaboration with the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED).
The program offers students the chance to work at local businesses such as Pace Bus, Silver Cross Hospital, the Joliet Public Library, YMCA, and Harbor Freight Tools. The goal is to help students explore career paths, enhance their resumes, and foster community connections.
Internship details and applications are accessible online. Graduating seniors from the Class of 2025 are eligible to apply. The final date for application submission is February 21.
Participants in the program can earn up to 0.5 credits based on approved work hours while receiving payment for their work.
An Internship Application Workshop will be held at the Community Connections Expo on February 20 at Joliet West from 6 to 7 p.m. Attendees will receive application assistance and two hours of community service credit, along with a raffle ticket for prize drawings.
Each internship comes with specific job descriptions that applicants must review thoroughly to ensure they meet qualifications such as age requirements and skill sets. Students can apply for multiple internships without any limit.
Applicants need to arrange their transportation and provide two references—one from a teacher and another personal reference—but no recommendation letters are needed. Employers will contact these references directly.
A resume submission is mandatory, and some positions may require a cover letter as specified in job descriptions. Unofficial transcripts should be submitted through Infinite Campus following provided directions.
