Troy Hofer Elementary School Education: 70 Black students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 70 Black students enrolled in Troy Hofer Elementary School in the 2022-23 school year, 9.4% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 422 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 16.6% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Troy Community Consolidated School District 30C with a central office in Shorewood.

Among the seven schools in Troy Community Consolidated School District 30C, Troy Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 901 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
