Joliet Township High School is calling for volunteers to participate in its Restorative Practices Problem Solving Circle Program. This initiative aims to assist students who are on Behavior Warning due to actions that might lead to expulsion. By engaging in the program, students have the opportunity to be removed from the warning list through participation in problem-solving circles over several weeks.

The program's focus is on understanding and addressing the root causes of a student's behavior to prevent recurrence. Volunteers will work alongside a certified facilitator, the student involved, their parents or guardians, and an invited guest such as a teacher or family member. The volunteer’s role is to provide impartial support during discussions led by the facilitator.

Volunteer training is set for June 28, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center located at 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Those interested can contact Greg Thompson via email at gthompson@jths.org or by phone at (815) 727-6946.

This program is part of an effort by the Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC), formerly known as the Joliet Region Interfaith Education Council (JRIEC). The group consists of community and faith-based leaders who collaborate with school administration quarterly to support students and families within the district.

Greg Thompson serves as the District Coordinator for this program, while Karla Franchini coordinates efforts at Joliet Central.
