Families and students are gearing up for Central's Homecoming festivities this weekend. The event promises to be a memorable occasion for the community.

The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry is accepting nominations for the 2025 Great Teacher Award. Community members can nominate deserving teachers by submitting a summary of 500 words or less by November 11.

On October 22, Joliet Central High School will host the Community Connections Expo from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees can explore a resource fair, job expo, health screenings, and enjoy live music by Mariachi de Joliet. The event will also feature talks on health and wellness and a "Hidden in Plain Sight" trailer focused on teen safety. Food trucks will be available.

The JT Boosters invite families to their next meeting on October 23 at 6:30 p.m., held at the Administrative Center in Joliet. The organization supports athletic programs through fundraising events such as golf outings and Night of Champions events.

Joliet Central's Clerical Union is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event on October 23 from 4 to 6 p.m., open to children under age 13. It will take place on Herkimer Street, with parking available in designated JTHS lots.

Joliet West Drama presents "Little Women" from October 25-27 at Joliet West High School Auditorium. Performances are scheduled for October 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on October 27 at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held virtually on October 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., and October 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration closed on October 17, and there are adjusted school hours during these days.

The JTHS Board of Education's next meeting is set for November 19 at the JTHS Administrative Center at seven o'clock in the evening. Meetings are accessible online, with public comment sign-ups required before arrival.
