Parent teacher conference registration open; virtual meetings set for late October

Registration for the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences is now open, providing parents and guardians an opportunity to discuss academic progress with teachers. Village announces curbside leaf collection schedule starting October

The Village's Public Works Department is set to commence its Curbside Leaf Collection Program starting the second full week of October. This program will continue until December 1st or until the first snowfall, whichever comes first. The collection will occur between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. Leaves placed on the parkway after crews have passed will be collected the following week.

Police investigate social media threat at Providence Catholic High School

Shortly before noon, New Lenox police informed Providence Catholic school leadership about a social media post by a student that posed a potential safety threat. Police officers arrived on campus and requested the administration to locate the student. Searches of the student, their locker, and vehicle were conducted, but nothing was found. The student's parent was contacted, and the student left with police officers. Authorities assured that they would maintain a presence on campus for the remainder of the day.

School improvement day leads to early dismissal on October 10

Tomorrow marks a School Improvement Day with early release for students. The schedule for October 10, 2024, follows the "A" Schedule.
