Student volunteers sought for Joliet Fire Department drill during Spring Break
Tecara Parker Principal | Joliet West High School

The Joliet Fire Department (JFD) is organizing a training exercise at Joliet West from March 24 to 26, 2025, and is seeking student volunteers to act as victims. The exercise will take place during Spring Break, providing students with an opportunity to engage in a community service activity.

Volunteers will first participate in an orientation with JFD staff before interacting with firefighters and paramedics during the training sessions. Students who volunteer will earn community service hours for their participation.

Interested students can sign up for one or more of the six available training sessions. Each day offers two shifts: morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and afternoon from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Joliet Township High School (JTHS) expressed enthusiasm about supporting the JFD's efforts in conducting this critical training exercise.
