Joliet Central unveils new culinary arts addition with grand opening event
Dr. Brett Marcum Assistant Principal | Joliet West High School

Joliet Township High School is set to host a grand opening for the new Culinary Arts Addition at Joliet Central High School. The event will take place on Monday, January 6, at 3 p.m., and is open to the community, families, students, and staff. Attendees are advised to enter through the Main Entrance (Student Center) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by tours of the facility.

The new addition spans 8,000 square feet and features two cutting-edge culinary labs. Each lab includes eight student workstations along with a teacher's station, accommodating up to 32 students per classroom. The labs are equipped with high-quality residential-grade cooking appliances such as multi-range gas cooktops and ovens. They also feature an espresso machine and advanced audio-visual systems complete with demonstration cameras.

One of the classrooms boasts a "made-for-TV" look with a professional demonstration kitchen complemented by café-style seating. Additional enhancements include restroom upgrades, a newly designed staff wellness room, and an updated group room.

The school encourages everyone to join in celebrating this latest development at Joliet Central High School.
