The 13th Annual Veterans Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, November 7, at Joliet Central High School. The event will begin at 2:20 p.m. in the school's auditorium located at 201 E. Jefferson Street in Joliet.
Veterans who plan to attend are encouraged to fill out an online form or contact the Community and Alumni Relations Office at (815) 774-1642 to receive recognition during the ceremony. Organizers have requested that only those veterans attending the event submit their information, as a brief summary of each veteran’s service will be read during the program.
Visitors may arrive after 1:30 p.m., with parking available in all school lots. Guests should enter through Door J, which is the auditorium entrance off Eastern Avenue. A handicapped-accessible entrance is available at Door I, also off Eastern Avenue.
The ceremony will feature performances by JROTC Cadets, the Joliet Central Symphonic Band presenting music representing each branch of military service, and the Joliet Central Choirs. There will also be a rendition of “Duty, Honor, Country” and readings of biographies highlighting veterans’ service.
After the ceremony concludes, a reception for veterans, military personnel, families, friends, and community members will take place in the Student Center.
