Families and students are being encouraged to nominate teachers from Joliet Township High School (JTHS) for the 2026 Great Teacher Award, an honor presented by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The nomination process requires a summary of 500 words or less describing why the teacher should receive the award. The deadline for submissions is November 10.

The deadline is November 10," said school officials.
Joliet West High School, located in Joliet within Will County, serves grades 9 through 12 with an enrollment of 3,310 students during the 2019-2020 school year according to data from Illinois Report Card. The student body at Joliet West High School was made up of approximately 34.9 percent white students, 21.2 percent black students, 39 percent Hispanic students, and 1.7 percent Asian students during that period (source).
The distribution across grade levels showed that grade nine had the highest concentration at 27.3 percent of all enrolled students (source), while grade twelve accounted for about 26.1 percent (source). Grades eleven and ten represented about 25.1 percent and 24.7 percent respectively (source).
