Joliet West High School will host its annual Black & Gold Night on Friday, August 22 at Klootwyk Stadium. The event begins when gates open at 5:30 p.m., with admission set at $5 for adults and $2 for students. Season passes and concessions will be available for purchase during the evening.
Students attending must show identification, and junior high students are required to be accompanied by an adult.
The schedule includes a varsity boys soccer scrimmage and skill competition from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a varsity girls flag football scrimmage and skill competition from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Halftime performances featuring cheer, dance, and band groups are scheduled from 7:00 to 7:20 p.m. The evening concludes with a varsity football scrimmage and skill competition from 7:20 to 7:50 p.m., after which the gates will close.
Joliet West High School serves grades nine through twelve in Joliet and Will County, with an enrollment of 3,310 students in the 2019-2020 school year, according to the Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Of these students, grade nine had the highest concentration at 27.3 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/), while grades ten through twelve made up the remaining distribution across those years (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
