Joliet West High School is set to open registration for its summer driver's education program on May 5 at 8 a.m. The program, scheduled from June 2 to June 27, is available for students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the 2025-2026 school year. The course requirement mandates students to be at least 15 years old by the start of the program and to have passed a minimum of eight classes over the past two semesters.
Registration involves completing an online Permit to Enroll Form, which will be accessible for a 24-hour period starting at 8 a.m. on May 5. The administration emphasized that submitting the form does not guarantee enrollment. Priority will be given to upperclassmen and students with at least a 90% attendance rate in the previous semesters.
Once registration closes, parents or guardians will be informed via email within three days if their student has secured a spot. For Joliet Township students, a fee of $250 will be due by June 2. Students paying Free Lunch Fees will not be charged. The course times range from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with options for morning, mid-morning, and afternoon sessions.
Students are reminded that missing more than two classes could result in the need to re-enroll, adhering to the Secretary of State’s attendance policy. Any inquiries regarding the program can be directed to Mr. Kusnik.
