The Joliet Township High School (JTHS) community recently participated in the second Community Connections Expo, which saw a significant turnout. The event was an opportunity for authentic engagement among students, families, staff, and community members.
The deadline for the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED) summer internship applications is today. There are 147 paid internships available to select school districts in Will County, including JTHS. Graduating seniors from the Class of 2025 are eligible to apply.
On February 27, JTHS will have an early release day due to School Improvement Day. Students will follow the "B" Schedule with different dismissal times depending on their program.
In celebration of Black History Month, the Joliet Central Black Student Union and the National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc., Joliet Chapter, will host an African American Read-In on February 28 at 2:15 p.m. in the Joliet Central Auditorium. The theme is "How Black Music Shaped America."
JTHS seniors still have time to apply for exclusive scholarships before the March 1 deadline.
YMCA Teen Achievers Workshops are scheduled for March 1 and April 12 at Joliet Junior College. These free workshops focus on affordable education solutions and scholarship opportunities.
Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences for Semester 2 will occur on March 6 and 7. Students will be dismissed early on March 6, with no classes on March 7.
The JTHS Foundation's annual Trivia Event is set for March 9 at 176 West Banquets in Joliet. Proceeds support educational grants and scholarships.
The Grandparents Raising Children support group will meet on March 18 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., offering assistance to grandparents and non-custodial caregivers.
Lastly, the JTHS Board of Education meeting is scheduled for March 18 at 7 p.m., where community members can make public comments by signing up before arrival.
