Families and students were acknowledged for their attendance at the State of the District Address held on Wednesday. For those who missed it, the presentation is available. Joliet Township High School (JTHS) invites everyone to attend the Community Connections Expo on February 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Joliet West. The event will include a Job and Community Resource Fair, food, raffles, musical entertainment by the Joliet West Band, empowerment sessions, spirit wear sales, Esports gaming, and more. Students attending an empowerment session will earn two community service hours.
The Joliet Central High School Boys & Girls Varsity Basketball Teams will honor Joliet East High School alumni during a doubleheader today. The games begin with the Varsity Girls at 5 p.m., followed by the Varsity Boys at 6:30 p.m. Alumni receive free entry and must show ID at the door.
The JTHS Orchestra has launched the "Support the Score" Campaign to commission a new orchestral composition for its 120th anniversary. Donations can be made through various methods including credit card and PayPal.
The Veterinary Mentoring Program offers free virtual seminars for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in animal medicine from September to April. There are also optional in-person opportunities such as clinic shadowing.

Applications for paid summer internships through Will County CED are due by February 21. Opportunities are available for graduating seniors within select Will County School Districts including JTHS.
Tickets are now on sale for Joliet West High School's Black & White Dance happening on February 22 from 6 to 9 p.m., priced at $25 each with date forms due by February 10.
February 27 marks an Early Release School Improvement Day with students following adjusted dismissal times based on their respective schools' schedules.
In celebration of Black History Month, an African American Read-In is set for February 28 in partnership with local organizations at Joliet Central Auditorium focusing on "How Black Music Shaped America."
Finally, the JTHS Foundation Trivia Event is scheduled for March 9 with proceeds benefiting educational grants and scholarships provided by the foundation.
