Driver education registration for Joliet West High School students will commence on February 10 at 8 a.m. The course is available to sophomore, junior, and senior students who meet specific eligibility criteria. Students must be at least 15 years old by March 4 and have passed at least eight classes in the past two semesters.
The online registration link for the Permit to Enroll will be activated at the designated time and remain open for 24 hours. However, submitting the form does not guarantee enrollment due to limited seating. Priority will be given to upperclassmen and those with more than 90% attendance in the previous two semesters.
Parents or guardians of students who secure a seat will receive notification via email once registration closes. For Joliet Township students, a Driver Education fee of $250 will be charged to their account. Junior and senior students eligible for Free Lunch Fees are exempt from this charge.
Students involved in spring athletics should note that they cannot participate in both sports and After School Driver Education due to required seat time hours. Additionally, it is advised that careful consideration is given when selecting class days as changes may not be possible after rosters are finalized.
Class options include Monday and Wednesday after school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., or Tuesday and Wednesday before school from 6:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
