Families and students are approaching the end of the semester, with the school administration extending wishes for a safe holiday and a happy New Year. Students are expected to return on January 8, 2025, for the start of the second semester.

Final exams for Semester 1 will be conducted from December 18 to 20 at Joliet Central and Joliet West. The schedule is available in both English and Spanish. Students needing assistance with their grades are encouraged to seek help.

The JTHS Board of Education has scheduled its next meeting on December 17 at 7 p.m. Families and community members are invited to attend. Meeting agendas are made available at least 48 hours in advance, and those wishing to make public comments should sign up before 6:50 p.m.

Report cards for Semester 1 will be posted on December 20 at 5 p.m., accessible through provided instructions in both English and Spanish. Assistance is available for those encountering difficulties in accessing their report cards.

The winter holiday break begins on December 23, with classes resuming on January 8, 2025.

Students are reminded of the requirement of completing 40 community service hours for graduation. The MLK Day of Service offers an opportunity to earn five service hours on January 20 at Joliet Central High School. Activities include breakfast, a welcoming ceremony, volunteer service, lunch, and entertainment. Sign-up is open until December 19, with participation available to people of all ages.
