Families and students of Joliet Central and Joliet West are reminded that Semester 1 final exams will take place from December 18 to December 20. The schedule is available in both English and Spanish. Students needing assistance with their grades are encouraged to seek help.

The Joliet West Winter Band Concert is scheduled for December 10 at 7 p.m. in the West Auditorium, featuring performances by the Joliet West Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Symphonic Band. The Jazz Ensemble will play holiday favorites before the concert starts at 6:40 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

On December 12, the Joliet Central Choir and JTHS Orchestra will host their Sounds of the Season Winter Concert at 7 p.m. in the Joliet Central Auditorium. This event aims to kick off the holiday season with popular holiday tunes, offering free admission.

Also on December 12, the Joliet West Choir's annual Winter Choral Concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Joliet West Auditorium. The concert includes performances from various choirs including those from Troy Middle School. This event is also free for attendees.

The next meeting of the Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) is set for December 13, where members of community and faith-based organizations can attend a session starting with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., concluding by 10 a.m. Attendees will hear presentations from United Way of Will County and JTHS Catalyst Program.

Families and community members are invited to attend the JTHS Board of Education Meeting on December 17 at 7 p.m., where meetings are open to public comments for those who sign up by arrival before 6:50 p.m.

Winter break begins on December 23, lasting until January 7, with classes resuming on January 8, 2025. A reminder wishes families a safe holiday season.

Lastly, students and families can volunteer during MLK Day of Service on January 20. Activities begin with check-in and breakfast followed by community service projects across various locations until noon.
